Agave attenuata

Agave attenuata ‘Fox Tail’

Unlike many Agaves, Agave attenuata (Fox Tail Agave) is an evergreen succulent seasonal which creates a good-looking rosette of silvery, light green leaves as much as 4 ft. vast (120cm, without teeth or terminal spinal columns. Born upon a thick stem which can get to 4ft. (120cm), the rosette is composed of flexible leaves which beautifully curve back, resembling an open flower. This Agave obtains its usual name from the outstanding curving blossom stalk which arises from rosette in summer. It bears greenish-yellow flowers which give way to seed sheathings and also lots of brand-new plantlets. This Agave plant makes a dramatic prime focus or accent and can be made use of in attractive pots.
