Senecio herreanus ‘String of Tears’
Senecio herreanus also called ‘String of Tears’, ‘String of Watermelons’, ‘Gooseberry Plant’ as well as ‘Sting of Raindrops’. It is a spectacular succulent with tracking stems and egg-shaped leaves. It looks really comparable to Senecio rowleyanus but has bigger and much more elongate leaves. The stems are slim as well as can grow over 12 inches (30 cm) long, tracking from a pot or slipping along the ground and also rooting at the nodes. Leaves and green, lined with fine dark greener purple stripes and clear “window”. Exposure to intense sunlight will deepen the purple tones on the leaves as well as stems. Blossoms are tiny, brush-like, white to virtually white, and show up from springtime to fall on lengthy peduncles.
