The rosettes mature to 3 inches (7.5 centimeters) in diameter. Leaves are gray-green with white spinal columns along the margins and a couple of along the keel of the reduced surface area. Blossoms are orange, tubular as well as appear on unbranched spikes that rise to 24 inches (60 centimeters) in late springtime. Leaves can turn red and also yellow-ish in direct sunlight. “Short-leaved Aloe” is deer resistant.
